Insured Patients

Ms Amerasinghe is recognised by all the major medical insurance companies (BUPA, BUPA International, AXA PPP, Norwich Union (Aviva), WPA, Standard Life, Pruhealth Cigna, Saga, Medisure etc.)  Patients are strongly advised to contact their Insurance Company prior to their appointment to confirm their cover and to obtain a preauthorisation number which will ease the reimbursement process.

Please bring the details of your Insurance Cover when you attend your appointment (Membership number, Group or Company number as relevant). With preauthorisation we are often able to communicate directly with the Insurance Company on your behalf. Without preauthorisation, bringing proof of Insurance Cover may help in direct billing of your Insurance Company.

Mostly we take payment via an automated online service, but BACS transfer and cheques can be used on request. A receipt is available to claim reimbursement from Insurance Companies where appropriate.


Non Insured Patients

Approximately one third of patients seen do not have health insurance. The rising costs of insurance premiums make ‘self pay’ an attractive option for many. There is an initial consultation fee and on top of these there is frequently a separate charge for further investigations and their interpretation.

Please be aware that cancellations within 24 hours of appointment maybe liable for charges.
